Days at Rainbow follow a regular rhythm while leaving room for special events and celebrating the cycle of seasons. This routine is important to the children's understanding of the time of day as well as their expectations of what will happen next. It also provides regular opportunities for the staff to relate directly to the children.

Our Daily Schedule:

7:00 - 8:00 Transition time (independent creative activities)

8:00 - 9:45 Free play (Children choose from a variety of activities including storybooks, blocks, crafts, puzzles, dramatic play, and gymnastics on crash mats)

9:45 - 10:40 Clean up; circle time (sing songs, movement tapes); snack

10:40 - 11:45 Small group time (starts with stories, then classroom exploration, motor skills, creative expression, and cognitive activities)

11:45 - 12:10 Free play including stories

12:10 - 1:10 Wash up; story time; lunch

1:10 - 3:15 Stories; naptime

3:15 - 3:30 Free choice of activity and stories; clean up

3:30 - 4:35 Circle time; snack; afternoon small group time; group games

4:35 - 6:00 Free play; story time
